Appointment Availability
Every individual seeking services needs an appointment (except for special situations described at the bottom of this page). This means that if there is a family where two children need reports of birth, one child needs a passport, and two adults need passports, the family needs to make five separate appointments. We will only serve those individuals with appointments.
All required forms are available on this site and should be printed out and completed prior to your arrival. If you need to fill out forms once you are here, you should arrive more than 30 minutes prior to your appointment. If your application is incomplete, you will have to reschedule another appointment through our website. If you have questions about which forms you need, please email us before your appointment at AMCTELAVIV@state.gov .
If you reside outside Tel Aviv’s Consular District in the municipality of Jerusalem, in the West Bank, or in Gaza, you should make your appointment at the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem. To do so, please go to: http://jerusalem.usconsulate.gov/appointment2.html
To schedule an appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv , please schedule an appointment by following these directions:

Click on this link for notarial services - Follow the directions given at the above sites for making an appointment (or appointments). Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your earliest scheduled appointment to allow time for security screening. All required forms are available on this site and should be printed out and completed prior to your arrival. If you need to fill out forms once you are here, you should arrive more than 30 minutes prior to your appointment. It is very important that you review our website for what is required for the particular service you are requesting. If your application is incomplete, you will have to reschedule another appointment through our website. Note: applicants for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) must bring in their own photocopies of supporting documents, along with the originals. Bring copies and the originals of: photo identification of the mother and father; the parents' marriage certificate; any previous divorce or death certificates for the parents, if applicable; and the child's birth certificate. Applicants who do not have photocopies will be charged at the rate of US $ 1 (one dollar) per page.
- Fee amounts can be found at the links in 2., above. If you choose to pay in U.S. Dollars, please have the exact amount. We do not accept pennies.
Who Does Not Require An Appointment:
Adding Visa Pages: Applicants who wish to add visa pages do not need to appear personally at the Embassy. Send your applications by mail. Interviews are not required. If you decide to appear at the Embassy to add pages, please go directly to Window 1 in the American Citizen Services Unit between the hours of Monday to Thursday, 8am to 11am.
Form DS-82: Applicants with a DS-82 passport renewal (please see this link to see if you qualify) do not need to appear personally at the Embassy to renew their passport. These applicants should send their applications by mail. Interviews are not required. If you decide to appear at the Embassy for a DS-82 renewal, please go directly to Window 1 in the American Citizen Services Unit between the hours of Monday to Thursday, 8am to 11am.
Deaths: Appointments are not required for reporting the death of an American citizen. Please go to any available window Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
If you need a passport for emergency travel please use the following instructions.
- Please check the appointments web site http://israel.usembassy.gov/consular/acs/appointments.html to see if there is an available appointment prior to your date of travel. Please note we can issue same day emergency passports when you bring documentary proof of the emergency to your appointment.
- If no appointment is available on or before your travel date, please e-mail amctelaviv@state.gov to request an emergency appointment. Please put EMERGENCY in the subject line to ensure a timely response. We will notify you when your appointment is set. Please bring documentary proof of the emergency to your appointment. All emergency appointments are seen between 7:30-8AM Monday through Friday.
- Extreme emergencies that are unable to complete steps A and B above should come to the Embassy – American Citizen Services between 7:30-8AM. Please bring all documentary proof of your emergency
