Notice: The Consular section will be closed and away from the office on Wednesday, April 13 for our annual retreat. For true emergencies, please see the right-hand box under “Emergency Contacts.”

Public Hours: The Embassy is open to the public from 8-11 am, Monday – Friday, by appointment only (except when the Embassy or consular section is closed).  Please click here for a list of scheduled embassy closures.  The consular section is closed to the public on the first Wednesday of each month.

Appointments: All services require an appointment, including emergency passport requests. Review the left-hand column to find the service you need.

Email: Submit passport and notarial questions to amctelaviv@state.gov, report of birth abroad questions to telavivcrba@state.gov, U.S. visa questions to nivtelaviv@state.gov, and voting questions to votetelaviv@state.gov.

Phone: Call 03-519-7475, from 2-4 pm, Monday – Thursday (except the scheduled closings listed above) to be connected to a member of the American Citizen Services unit.

Other Offices: U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem provides services to residents of the Municipality of Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza. A Haifa Consular Agency provides services to residents in the Haifa area.

    During Business Hours: American Citizen Services is open for general inquiries Mon.-Fri. from 2:00-4:00pm. 

    Outside Business Hours: Ask to be connected to the Duty Officer. Note: this service is ONLY for assistance in an emergency directly affecting a U.S. Citizen in Israel.  

    Emergencies: Emergencies can include arrests, detentions, missing persons, hospitalizations, and victims of crime. 

    Not Emergencies:  Routine inquiries regarding passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and notarials should be made during business hours. 

    Please note American Citizens Services does NOT handle visa inquiries.
