Who Needs to Apply
All Israeli citizens are required to have a valid visa to enter the United States, regardless of age. If you hold the passport of another country, you may not need a visa for short visits for tourism or business to the United States. Follow this link Visa Waiver ( to see if you are eligible to travel to the United States without a visa on another passport.
How to Apply
In order to apply for a Nonimmigrant visa, the following steps are required:
- first go to https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ and fill out the application form (DS-160). Once you have successfully completed the form, print out the confirmation sheet with your confirmation number. This number is required for scheduling an appointment.
- After you have received the confirmation number, you may schedule an appointment online at http://VisaInfo.US-Visaservices.com or by contacting the call center at 180-931-5642. Nonimmigrant visa applicants aged 14 to 79 (under age 80) are required to schedule an appointment for an interview with a U.S. consular officer. Interviews are by appointment only The Embassy does not accept walk-in applications.
The following applicants are not required to come to the Embassy:
-Applicants under 14 or over 80 do not need an interview appointment. Their physical presence at the Embassy is not required during the process, unless it will be specifically required by the consular officer upon review of the visa application.
Visa applications of applicants who fulfill these conditions may be sent to the Embassy for processing via the Postal Courier Service. Call 171 (the Israeli Postal Company) and pay for two-way pick-up and delivery service with your credit card. The post office will send a messenger to pick up your completed application forms, a photograph measuring 5 cm X 5 cm, valid passports, supporting documents, and the payment receipt of $131 per application. If you are feeling unwell or are exhibiting flu-like symptoms on the day of your appointment, please do not come to the Nonimmigrant Visa Section for your appointment. Instead, please contact us by email at NIVTELAVIV@state.gov and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment. To protect the health of our employees and other applicants, if you do come to our office and your are exhibiting signs that you are ill, you may be asked to leave and reschedule your appointment.
