Additional processing
In most cases, the consular officer will tell you at the time of your interview if your visa application has been approved. However, some applications require additional information and administrative processing before a visa can be issued.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
-It is difficult to predict how long the administrative processing will take; this process cannot be expedited. Rest assured that we will contact you as soon as the case’s administrative processing is finished.
-Based upon visa laws and regulations, the validity of your visa may be limited depending upon the type of visa requested and the nature of the case’s administrative processing. Please note that the Consular Section cannot discuss why a particular case is subject to administrative processingand/or has been limited in validity.
