The ESTH office attended the 11th annual Ford Environmental and Conservation Awards ceremony. Partnered with the SHELI Fund, and Delek Motors, Ford awarded 20 projects a total of $100,000 dollars with the charge to increase sustainable living in Israel. This year's grants bring the grand total to 2.4 million NIS (about $650,000) given to 190 Israeli organizations since the program's inception. With a worldwide scope, Ford has donated to 125,000 non-profits in Europe, Central America, the Caribbean, Asia, and the Middle East. ESTH officer Paul Rohrlich gave a short speech in which he applauded Ford and the project recipients' ability to "think globally and act locally". He also addressed the constant need to preserve the existing environment as it takes a "lifetime to protect but only an instant to destroy". Projects that received funding ranged from green transportation, recycling, building and gardening to wildlife rehabilitation at a zoological center.
