Small Grants Program

Grants to Civil Society and Cultural Organizations

Through a small-grants program, the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv provides support for artistic and cultural performances and local projects by NGOs and educational institutions. Projects should have an American component or be relative to American values such as diversity, equal opportunity, and democracy. Preference will be given to projects that incorporate the following elements:

  • Promote and deepen the understanding and appreciation of American culture, society and values
  • Strengthen ties between Israel and the United States
  • Promote coexistence and foster greater understanding between communities in conflict in Israel
  • Promote democratic values, rule of law, good governance
  • Support women's empowerment, youth leadership, protection of religious and ethnic minorities

In deciding which projects to support, the Embassy will give preference to organizations with a proven track record of executing superior events and programs.  New grantees will be generally given priority over previous grantees.

Grants generally range from $500 to $3,000, and do not exceed a maximum of $10,000.

Please also note that Embassy cultural grants CANNOT be used to fund religious organizations or partisan political activity; trade activities; fundraising campaigns; commercial projects; or representational expenses (meals and refreshments, etc.).

Proposals should be submitted in either electronic format at any time and will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
